Confidence on your mat feeds fierceness and confidence in the rest of your life.
By definition, ‘fierce’ is described as the quality of being strong and powerful. Fierceness has a certain aspect of being strong and powerful that cannot be disregarded. It is a courageous and natural type of strength and power.
Applying fierceness to your yoga practice will open your heart and mind to much more than just yoga as an exercise. Your heart and mind will regain the initial intent of what yoga does for us. Yoga intends to harmonise the mind, body and the environment.
With this knowledge, apply a bit of fierceness during your practice. When you feel yourself struggling with that one specific pose and you start judging yourself, tell your inner critic “NOT TODAY” and practice positive sayings such as “I am strong, I am powerful” and feel your inner fierce yogi come to life.
If you are struggling with anything, just repeat the following mantras: “I am fierce”
“I am powerful”
“I am strong”
“I am able”
You can apply this in your everyday life.
