We all inhibit a powerful tool that we use unconsciously on a daily basis, the breath. The breath works so incredibly hard to keep you healthy. It allows you to digest your food, move your muscles and allows you to think! Everything we do requires oxygen, which our breath provides us.
What we can often skim over when it comes to the breath, is the power it has to let you heal.
The benefits of using the breath are immense and there are so many different breathing techniques, too!
Breathing techniques:
Belly breathing
Box breathing
4-7-8 breathing
Lion’s breath
Mindful breathing
Diaphragmatic breathing
These are just a few breathing techniques to mention.
Being under stress or having anxiety puts your body through stress by causing a rapid heart rate, palpitations and chest pain. The release of the ‘fight or flight’ hormone, Adrenaline, is released into your bloodstream. If you suffer from constant stress or anxiety, you may experience fuzzy thoughts, sleeping problems, sore belly, irritability, headaches and much more. The constant stress will take a toll on your body and this is why you will need to use your super powerful tool to help you out in this situation. When you breathe deep and mindful breaths, it sends a message to your brain to calm down and relax. Then your brain sends this message to the entire body. After this message has been received by the body, your heart rate and blood pressure start to decrease. After this, your body starts to feel more relaxed and you may notice a lot of your stress or anxiety related symptoms in your body start to lessen.
Remember to always use your breath!
